What is the Difference between Jews, Hebrews and Israel?
Two different postulates are suggested to the origin of the name Hebrew. One is that Abraham and his posterity were called Hebrews to distinguish them from the races living on the other side of the Euphrates River and the other is it is a derivative of the name Heber, one of the ancestors of Abraham.
Abraham had two sons. The first was born when he was 86 to Hagar. He was named Ishmael. Hagar was told that “And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.” (Gen. 16:11-12)
Through the linage of Ishmael came the prophet Mohammad and the religion of Islam. Maybe the information that Hagar was told about her son is very apropos to today’s Radical Islamics.
When Abraham was 100 years old he had his second son. His mother was Sarah. He was named Isaac.
Isaac also had two sons. They were named Jacob and Esau. Jacobs name was eventually changed to “Israel” which means “Contender with God” because he had succeeded in his supplication before God.
Jacob, (Israel), had twelve sons. They were named Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin. They are often called "The Twelve Tribes of Israel."
After Solomon died, the Kingdom of Israel was divided into Israel, (Northern Kingdom), and Judah, (Southern Kingdom.)
Ten of The Northern Kingdom tribes were captured by Shalmanezer in the approximate year of 721 B.C. and carried off to Assyria. This left mainly the Kingdom of Judah.
Through Judah would be born Jesus and what remains of the Tribe of Judah is what we now call “Jews” and many of them are now living in the country of Israel.
Hope this helps clear some of the questions that many of you might have had since Israel plays a leading role in world events.
But then again, maybe you guys already knew this stuff?

How was Jesus born through Judah if he was the product of a virgin birth?

"And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David)" (Luke 2:4)
From above we can see that Jesus's Earthly Father, Joseph, was from the Lineage of David.
To get into the virgin birth, would take a lot more time and web space than is reasonable to explain. Not to mention that there are many different views on this from many different Christian Churches.

I am a little taken back by your comment as I had no idea that anything I have said would be considered an "attack." A point of view maybe, but not an "attack."
Next, I have made it clear to all that I am not a Libertarian.
I am actually between a Center-Right and a Libertiarian. I don't believe in many of the Liberitarian platform as you will see below.
I believe in what the founding fathers believed in though.
Ronald Regan said it best..."The government that governs least, governs best."
Anyway I will try to not "attack" anyone. If you wish me not to post on jen's blog, I will comply.
I am a Republican because I believe in our party and I also believe that we need more "Ultra Conservatives" to join the fight against the "Left."
I fully believe that we are on the same side because almost all Republicans can see the dangers of the Left.
Twenty years ago what was considered "liberal" is now called the "center" of the nation.
Jen, please forgive me if any of my views were seen as an "attack" as I always use "gentle persuasion" in all of my posts...or at least try my best to.
I hope we can all see that it is counter productive for all of us to be "ditto" bloggers, as without different perspectives we will become sheep, and cease to expand our minds. And one thing you can always count on me for is saying what is on the "Right" side of the "center."
At the link below I took The Libertarian Party's own test and it scored me a "Conservative" not a Libertiarian.
Here is the short Ten Question test, and here were my answers.
1. Government should not censor speech, press, media or Internet.
I said "Disagree" because of the Internet. The Internet is public and therefore it should censor pornography.
2. Military service should be voluntary. There should be no draft.
I said "Disagree" becasue I think the government has the right to demand service to protect this country.
3. There should be no laws regarding sex for consenting adults.
I said "Disagree" becasue I think prostitution in public places should be against the law. Now, what tow consenting adults do in the bedroom...that is different.
4. Repeal laws prohibiting adult possession and use of drugs.
I said "Maybe" because I feel that both sides of this argument have valid points.
5. There should be no National ID card.
I said I "Disagree" because I think only "Alive" and certified U.S. citizens should be allowed to vote, and without a National ID card, there will be "dead people" who somehow vote for the Democrats.
6. End "Corporate Welfare."
I said "Agree." Taxpayer money should not be used to help private businesses that are failing.
7. End government barriers to free trade.
I said "Agree." Free trade is always good because it lowers everyones cost of goods and allows more disposable income.
8. Privatize Social Security.
I said "Agree." Bush's plan is for moving that direction.
9. Replace government welfare with private charity.
I said "Agree." We could move in that direction and slowly replace the current Welfare system.
10. Cut taxes and spending by 50% or more.
I said "Agree." Most of the Federal Budget is on Entitlement programs and other social spending.
There you have it from the Libertiarian Party Platform, the ten most important issues for them.
If your answers are like mine then you are also a Conservative and not Libertiarian.
Take the test and see where you fall on the spectrum according to thier platform.
There you go. You will see that all of my posts will be in agreement with my stances above. While I am a little more to the right on some things, I am more to the Center-Right on others.

Originally meaning descendants from the Tribe of Judah (the dominant son of Jacob) this term over time was applied to all the Hebrews. Some Jews trace patrilineal descent from the Tribe of Levi, which has special rights and privileges in the Synagogue to this day. Personally, because not all Jews are descended from the tribe of Judah, I prefer to call our people Hebrews.
In the Synagogue there are "Cohen", "Levi" and "Israel". "Cohen" trace patrilean descent to the priests, "Levi" trace patrilineal descent to the tribe of Levi, and "Israel" refers to the remainder of the Hebrews. When called up to read from the Torah (Aliyah) the "Cohen" gets called up first, then "Levi" gets called up, and then "Israel" gets called up. If there are more than three portions of the Torah being read from, no special patrilineal descent is required for Hebrews thus being honoured.
The tribe of Judah was scattered according to the Bible, some except but are a lot that are still living as the are the decadence of Judah which are the people that is of that land and those that are there now are Ashkenazi jews from Europe not of that land. GOD true people are still scattered East and West. GOD said he'll bring his people home and those that calling themselves jews are not REVELATION 2:9 so those are false people of GOD in Israel today. Sorry I don't believe it because even in America we have "Wild" men hating, killing, abusing, lying, robbing, trying to make themselves look at the favorite of GOD or trying to say if you are "White" you are in GOD favor and they are cheating others even in churches and committing sex crimes there too so what is their excuse?
